A quick web search finds many pages, including some claiming that Sinn Fein has had absolutely no connection to the Irish Republican Army, and that both organizations are as pure as the driven snow. Yeah, right. To quote the U.S. State Department, ``Radical terrorist group formed in 1969 as clandestine armed wing of Sinn Fein, a legal political movement dedicated to removing British forces from Northern Ireland and unifying Ireland. Has a Marxist orientation. Organized into small, tightly knit cells under the leadership of the Army Council.'' Yes, I know that date may be completely wrong, but that's cut right out of something at www.state.gov...
